The friendship pie

A detailed description of the activity will be provided here right after our training session. This will help you reflect on it and comment below by providing feedback to the trainer.


Procedure
Step 1 (5 min)
Participants are asked to work with their group, exchange ideas and conclude on the ingredients they will put in their friendship pie. Then they are asked to write on their V-shaped paper strips and form their pie.
Step 2 (5 min) – Debriefing
Both groups are invited to present their friendship pies.
Participants are asked to reflect on the activity and discuss based on some of the following questions.
Did this activity help you realize that different people may have different criteria for choosing their friends?
Did this activity help you understand that each person holds diverse values and priorities which inevitably dictate who will be closer to them?
Did the activity made you understand that you can still enjoy other people’s company as long as you accept their preferences?



For the reflection and feedback bear in mind the following criteria:



• Did you like the activity?

• Do you think the activity was designed on the basis of “the head, the heart and the hands” principle?

• Do you think the activity favoured interaction?

• Do you think the activity offered you with reflection opportunities on the qualities of THE OTHER?

• Do you think it can be easily applied?

• Do you think it would appeal to pupils of Primary?

• Do you think the activity can be integrated easily in the English class?
